Crazy World!!!~~

An eventful weekend I had indeed....haha...as if ah!~
At least I did something different on Friday though...went back to my office for some company recruitment seminar....went with only one agenda in mind. To listen to what this guy named Adam Khoo had to say. I had long heard of people paying thousands just to attend his speeches....and I am able to do it for free now...not going to miss this opportunity....or so I thought...haha

At the end of the seminar....I felt that I had actually wasted an evening listening to some unimpressive sales pitch...at best it was onli lively...didn't make me sleep. I was expecting him to share with us something useful but all he dabbled on was how to convince us to sign up with Great Eastern. I was already convinced even before I stepped in..so it was an utter waste of time for me...Though he did share some of his philosophies or methodologies with us, but it was all so superficial....all touch and go....disappointing.

After the seminar, I had an idea in mind. I think its smart loe...but friends around me say I am crazy....haha. Here's how it goes....I think Adam Khoo made it because of his reputation....and how was the reputation built up? I would suggest mainly through words of mouth and plain advertising....heh~ When I get my first 10k....I will find 100 friends around and give them 100 each....and have them spread around that they learn alot from me and were very motivated by me....haha!!~ Chinese saying goes 一传十 十传百。。。soon I will be famous!!~ And people will start paying me big bucks to hear me crap!!~ hahahahaha!!~ I am a genius man!!~~ Soon I will become another Adam Khoo earning money out of gullible folks around me....wahahaha!!~

NOW...FANTASIES ASIDE....after the seminar, went for ktv at Loyang point with my poly mates....its been a LONG time since I've been to Loyang Point....the interiors has changed, much to my surprise....had a good time singing and drinking...not a bad way to start a weekend. Saturday was back to my usual soccer matches....and MAHJONG! Hahaha...with Kelvin and gf and AhDon at Kelvin's place. Before that...we met up at the coffeeshop near his place to watch the match between Arsenal and Saints. Our money was on Saints so when Arsenal had a injury time winning goal disallowed...we were estatic to say the least...haha...

The mahjong session was once again in my favour....Had really nice tiles all the time and I won $105 in 3 rounds...poor AhDon lost over 100 though....he didn't have much luck I guess....or maybe just that my luck happened to be better. When we were done, it was already time for breakfast...haha...Treated them to breakfast at MacDonalds....its been a long time too since I had breakfast there....

The same old story goes on after that. Concussed upon reaching home and by the time I woke up...dinner time....lolz~ Woke up upon realisation that my retest is tomorrow....lolz~ But nvm....I guess burning the midnight oil isn't a problem since I slept enough today....Hope I have the same luck in my retest tomorrow... :)

~~Down to Earth~~

Finally ManU has been brought down to earth as their unbeaten streak ended at the hands of AC Milan in the Champion's League match last night. The disappointment of seeing ManU lose is just so unbearable that not even watching both Chelsea and Arsenal lose can make my mood any better....haiiz~ Hope they produce a stronger than ever performance in San Siro in a fortnight's time....certainly dun wish to see ManU's European's hope end prematurely.

Apart from late night soccer, I have been busy studying for my retest next week....ermm...studied today la...can't say the same for the past few days... :p
I realise that its been awhile since I actually gone for a movie....the last being phantom of the opera which is like a long time before Chinese New Year....Hope to catch a movie tomorrow....made some plans with Kelvin and Alan already....hope it materialises...

Still fruitless in my search for a full time job...been looking through Recruit for the few days but there seems to be no suitable vacancies for a marketing dip holder like me....the fact that I am not looking for a retail job makes matters worse....But I am in no hurry though...the free time I have now allows me to check out alot of stuffs that interest me....now working on some small business opportunites....yet to put my plans into action but I guess it is just a matter of time.

Looking forward to attend a seminar tomorrow, one of the guest speaker is Adam Khoo....a motivational speaker who made his first million at 26 by selling leadership skills...heh~ Like that oso can ah....lolz~~ I have heard of his success story a long time ago....along with others like Elim Chew of 77th Street and Ron Sim of OSIM etc...they have impressed me with their way to success because they basically started with nothing. I am not envisioning myself to be anywhere close....but being able to pursue one's own dream is certainly a luxury that I hope I can afford. I do not wish to be employed all my life....but yet I might be. Harsh reality of life....heh~

Mahjong Crazy Weekend.....

Not surprisingly, I spent almost my entire weekend playing mahjong.... :)
Went to Huiyan's place on Saturday afternoon for some friendly mahjong....Its the first time I played at her place and she kept claiming she is a beginner....haha...WE DUN CARE!!~ Enjoyed myself because we played quite small..no pressure at alll....and winning money wasn't on really on the agenda...We had quite alot of fun playing and talking rubbish....ended the session winning just enough for a dinner at the coffeeshop that I used to patronise back in poly days. Had some fried rice which tasted worse than my mum's and that in itself should tell alot...lolz~

During dinner, received a call from my mum telling me that I striked 4D....my hp number appeared on the consolation list~~ On any other day prior to this Sat...I would have jumped in joy...but I am sure friends around me will surely know I have just changed my hp number. Yes...I didn't buy my old number anymore...damn it~ Have been buying for 4yrs and the moment I stop buying...this had to happen....I am leading a live of mixed luck... :

After I reached home about 10...it was back to the usual soccer stuffs again. Again, ManU won against Everton in the FA Cup securing a quarter-final slot...inching towards another silverware to add to the illustrious achievements the club currently possesses. But what really made my day was Chelsea's defeat to Newcastle in the same competition...meaning their chance of attaining the quadruple vanquished...Did they actually think they could manage it? My....wishful thinking sia...haha....Its alway nice to see some teams beating them and curb their arrogance for once....I hope they end up with nothing at the end of the season. The possibilty of it happening does not seem too remote to me anymore.

Spent the whole day of Sunday at home attending to relatives whom my mum invited over for a gathering...My house was suddenly transformed into a gambling den cum kindergarten though I played no part gambling wise....haha....I was kept busy by my toddler cousins as threatened to tear my room apart...Its a miracle my computer is still in one piece for me to enter this blog...haha. But they were really adorable...so I couldn't bear to lose my temper at them...haha...especially my fifth aunt's son...he is just so cute...looks so blur and innocent all the time...too bad I didn't have my digital camera with me yesterday.... :)

After my elders are done with their gambling...they had dinner and left in evening time...and the gambler in me began to take charge...haha. Arranged to meet Edwin and Kelvin and his girlfriend, Serena, for another mahjong session...lolz~ Dun ask me if I will ever get sick of mahjong....:p

Met up with Kelvin earlier because he wanted to get a mahjong set and table...went on a frantic search around Bedok and Tampines searching for it...before we eventually found them in Tampines...I was quite surprised that the table could fit into the back seat of his car.
Glad he got the table and set...hence we are able to conduct our first ever mahjong session at Kelvin's place. Edwin came not long after with Serena's birthday present. A bottle of perfume shared by me and both Edwins...haha...

Anyway, the mahjong session was full of ups and downs for me literally....started with a base of $50...won $30 in the first round....den we went for a supper break before commencing the 2nd round...ended the second round with only $20 base left....my goodness....But.....I ended the 3rd round and the night winning $60~ What an emotional ride...hahahaha.....

Shagged out from the overnight session, me and Edwin shared a cab back home....waited for more than 15minutes before we got on a cab...and Kelvin still had the cheek to say its damn easy to flag a cab at his place...he's gonna get it from us...haha...anyway...concussed the moment I reached home...and I slept the whole day till late afternoon....reluctantly waking up for my late late lunch...lolz~ Its always been this way if I have a overnight mahjong session the previous night....hope my mum get used to it...hahaha....

~~Bon Voyage Friends~~

I have alot of friends leaving for Australia these few days....all with the intention of furthering their studies....Last week were my BMT mate Bryan and my ex-campmate Edwin...and this week...its Sam...Melvin and Zida's turn to leave for downunder....wish them all the best in their studies.... :)

This few days have been quite plain for me....usual stuffs like supper and mahjong kept me busy the past few nights. Met up with Zida for supper on Tues nite...had prata at a coffeeshop near his house...quite nice...but the prata serving seems to be too large already...haha...It wasn't too long after I reached home from supper that I received a call from Derick who asked me to meet me at my void deck so that he could get some forms from me. Along came another future colleague of mine, Linus. We shared an interesting conversation talking about our future plans and goals in life...Chatted for almost 1hr before we even realised it...

I didn't have much things to do on Wednesday except for some errands I had to run for my mum...met up with Cherylyn and Ivy in the evening for coffee at Coffee Bean in Tampines....nothing much really...just a simple chat to catch up with what's on in our daily life the past few weeks. Cher called me a slacker....simply a case of pot calling kettle black...haha...Wonder who is the one on MC on Mon or Tues hor.... :p

Thursday was filled with excitement for me...another chance for me to become a millionaire...hahaha... However, the 10 million Toto hongbao was eventually won by 8 lucky asses around Singapore...damn~ I think I have a right to vent any frustrations I had since I did contribute $40 to the toto hongbao lor...haha...nvm~

Anyway...was supposed to send Sam off in the morning...his flight was 9.30....but when I woke up...its already 8.30...lolz~ Reckoned that unless the plane waits for me...Its virtually impossible for me to make it in time for me to reach the airport before he departs. Its not my fault though :pPpP Had a real long night prior to that....discussing about work and some small business opportunities that I am kinda interested in....

Went on to meet my mahjong kakis for another overnight mahjong session on Thurs nite....Lost $1.60 after a night of hard work....can u believe it...haha...But I could have lost more if not for some late comeback victories. Onli managed 4hrs of sleep before I woke up today to meet Zida for lunch....went with him to get the stuffs that he needs in Australia....and one of the item on the list was WarCraft3.....yux~ I have a bunch of fanatic gaming addicts as friends...haha...

Concussed the moment I reached home after getting his stuffs from Singapore Post Centre...woke up only in time for a late dinner and subsequently this post... :) Received an sms from Huiyan asking me to play mahjong at her place tomorrow. Huiyan!! Of all people!! Omg!~ Haha....I am glad that I got another mahjong kaki in future man...heh~

~~~Valentine's Day 2005~~~
Wat an inept title actually...lolz~
Like V Day got anything to do with me...Oh yah..."celebrated" V Day by playing blackjack with a bunch of friends....and I lost again...I dun seem to have luck in card games huh..I prefer tile games... :p
Since I am on the topic of V Day, would also like to extend my well-wishes to friends around me who are happily attached...hope u all enjoyed ur V Day in some way or another...
And to those concerned friends who are afraid I will be left on the shelf and wish to offer some help in getting me hitched....thanks for your concern eh....but when I do need help..I will ask for it...haha...now leave me alone....and stop asking me when I am getting myself a girlfriend!~
U think so easy meh....its not like shopping for a handphone where you can buy as and when u like okie. Its not that I have high expectations or something...I mean I also do not think I have the right to expect anyway. Maybe I am just more practical...I believe that whatever effort I put in to something...I would need to be able to obtain the rewards justified. That is why I am rather apprehensive too when it comes to relationships and stuffs. I do not want to find myself in a situation whereby I've commited so much time and effort only to have it unreciprocated...which in my case is more often than not.
Too practical? Nah...I think I am just being realistic...I believe there isn't a need to rush anything...if it is meant to be...then it will come to you sooner or later...Of course U could say that I am wasting alot of time in the process....but who is asking u to waste the time man? I am using it for proper causes too....meeting up with friends and enjoying life.....making plans for further studies....work and earn more money....rewards which are measurable and to me of similar importance too....
I think I have seen enough...chances come and go through out your whole life. Just because U missed out on a good "catch" doesn't mean U will not find someone who will be suitable for u in future. Who is to say that the good "catch" that he or she once were will not change in time to come? I am keeping my options open...not going to rule out any possibility....who knows after this post I might just receive a call from someone who realises my existence and ta da!~ I am hitched! haha...but...but...miracles do not happen that frequently I guess... :p
I am actually contented with what I have in life now....Though I am still missing that special piece of jigsaw that makes my puzzle complete...but what's so great about being complete? If everything is complete...that would make life rather meaningless eh~ Sour grapes again hor.... :p
I LIKE....Haha...
Anyway.....so much for V Day...haha....Was doing my usual stuffs over the weekend again...Its like a routine! But a routine I wouldn't mind. Sunday night soccer watching with Alan, Edwin and Sam....where else but Bar'celona~~ Drinks were on Alan....the subsequent supper was on Sam...so I didn't have much to pay except for the cab fare home...Didn't mind that one bit...lolz~
Prior to this, I was actually at Huiyan's house....so nice of her to invite us over for a CNY gathering....nice food by her mum...though I lost in gambling....and was constantly made fun of by them over some comments I made when I was still young then...poly days...haa~~ I dunno why they enjoy doing that so much...but if it does make their day...den I leave it to them...haha....
Anyway...CNY is ending soon....despite it being 15days....but the mood just fizzles out after the first few days....Of course my parents are still expecting visitors the next weekend....but the atmosphere would not be the same anymore though...at least to me. Hmmm...I think this is the longest post I've ever blogged....more to come in future :)
No more Nokia!!~
Finally after years of using Nokia....I have decided to switch allegiance. I've gotten myself a Sony Ericcson T630...yeah~ Bought a new phone simply because my current phone cannot make it le...those who have been out with me regularly should know the state of condition the phone is in...haha...Besides...the phone was only going for $38!~ Quite a bargain to me...and my intention was not to splurge on a high end phone since I has better use with my money...a tablet pc in mind..heh~ :)
First day using a non-Nokia phone...really not used to it. Pressing the wrong keys...snail speed in smsing...seems to work alot on my patience...I admit there were instances when I did mutter some comments of regret...but I am beginning to get the hang of it....and I am beginning to like it...haha...I got no choice anyway...lolz~
This Chinese New Year is beginning to get better for me though...Thurs nite was spent at Noel's place playing mahjong....played 2 rounds and I won $100+....I was rather amazed with my own luck as well...the rest were disgusted I guess...haha...but well...I had my bad days too...Hope they won't come back so soon.... :p
Went to M1 Parkway to purchase the phone on Friday before meeting some "lao jiao" campmates at Suntec...Had dinner at Esplanade Garlic Restaurant...the food is ok...but the service sux to the core...we were like non-existent to the waiters there. Though I believe that all of us still enjoyed the dinner since its been a long time since we last saw peepz like Philemon and Nigel...all my favourite specialists when they were still in service...It was a good get-together since most of them are busy with their own stuffs....especially Philemon...handling his dad's business in China...and apparently busy with China "mei-meis" as well...ahahaha....
Woke up today in a shock as I saw my cousin in my room playing with my computer...Wtf!~
My mum didn't tell me we were expecting guests today and by the time I came to terms with it...I realised there were at least 20 odd relatives in my living room...it was really an unexpected wake up call..haha...My smart brother had left home by then...leaving me to help my mum attend to the guests...despite promising to meet some poly mates at Ignatius's place...would really love to be there since I will get to alot of poly mates that I have not seen for ages... but I just could not my mum in the lurch....so very sorry for "ps"ing them....Apologies to Claryce and Huiyan if they do get to read this... :
The relatives kept me busy till late afternoon...it was only after they left that I managed to get myself out of the house to my favourite retail outlet....Singapore Pools...haha. Bought my new hp number hoping that it would bring me some unexpected wealth...but once again...money thrown down the drain..lolz~ Nvm~ Tomorrow will be a better day....haha...
Actually intended to watch soccer with my usual kakis tonight but quite a few cannot make it so forgo the idea...quite disappointing though since tomorrow night will be a non-soccer night for most of my kakis....cos its Valentine's Eve~~ But who cares about that....I am more concerned with my Manchester Derby tomorrow night~ wahahaha...
~~Gong Xi Fa Cai!!~~
Chinese New Year...what's all the fuss about it, I wonder sometimes....Here's wat I did for the past few days....Booorriinng!~
08 Feb Tuesday
New Year Eve
Woke up at 10+ bcos my mum wanted me to offer my prayers to my anncestors...wanted to go back to sleep after that but was "persuaded" by my mum to buy my new year clothes...off I went to TM to jostle with the crowd mainly made up of students...wonder what's wrong with all of them...its a halfday and they don't wanna go home!~ Don't they know its Chinese New Year Eve? Duh!~
Got myself a pair of jeans and a shirt from OP...it was a grab and go situation...simply didn't wanna stay there a minute longer. Can't stand the crowds. And this 10mins of shopping sets me back by $100....my goodness...I am $100 further away from my new hp....damn~
Reunion dinner with my family at 7...had alot of nice seafood...the prawns and scallops were wonderful...fishballs and dumplings courtesy of my uncle...I've always enjoyed them. Sumptous dinner. After dinner, had the intention of going to Chinatown....but no one...absolutely no one bought my idea. So stayed at home and counted down to the arrival of the Year of the Rooster in front of the TV.
09 Feb Wednesday
Chinese New Year
My mum had to kick me to wake me up at 9am...Headed for my grandma's place at 10...shook hands like mad and received alot of hongbaos too...haha...Proceeded with ALL the relatives on a visiting spree....I think we are one of the only few families in Singapore that goes visiting in a chartered bus...lolz~ Went to 4 places in all....All around Singapore. Got a lift back home from my cousin...and its back to dreamland till evening time. Busy day as usual...
10 Feb Thursday
Chinese New Year 2nd Day
Left home at 11 was quite comforted to know there are only 2 places on the intinery today...phew~ Headed for the place of my another "granny"...actually she is the godmother of my mum...an elder I really respect. She dotes on me since young as well...and I think she is just like a real grandmother to me... :) My mum had a long chat with her while I kept myself entertained by watching whatever is on TV...some oldies songs....cmi~
Visitied another uncle before going home....had a quick nap until a cousin came visiting...entertained him for awhile before going back to sleep....really couldn't take it anymore...I need to sleep....with a overnight mahjong session beckoning me....I need as much rest as possible...haha...Looking forward to going Noel's house tonight... :)
~~Eve of Chinese New Year Eve~~
What a weekend I had...as almost everybody around me is basking in the approaching of Chinese New Year, I found myself somewhat isolated from the hype and expectation...Chinese New Year don't seem to mean much to me nowadays....maybe just another reason for friends to meet up...exchanging their customary greetings and well wishes for the new year ahead. The only things I look forward to during Chinese New Year would be the nice shows there would be on TV...especially if u have cable tv... :p
Spent the weekend doing almost the same thing as last week...yawnz~
KTV on Fri with my former campmates again...though there was a change of venue this time...my first time at Partyworld Shenton Way...all their outlets looks the same la...don't see why we must go so far...haha. Prior to that, met Noel Fred and Kelly at Suntec for some new year shopping...mostly done by Noel...lolz~ Managed to get him a discount for the clothes he bought at Topman because a poly friend of mine, Debbie happened to work there.
Saturday...hmmm....what else but soccer man? haha...but this time we chose a cheaper alternative as we settled for a coffeeshop near my place...watched my favourite ManU triumph once again. I still prefer Bar'celona despite the price differences because the atmosphere is just so different. I could say value for money? After that, we went to Pasir Ris for supper....sounds abit stupid since we were already at a coffeeshop though the variety was pathetic.
Sunday night was spent having dinner with my friends at Rice Table in Suntec City. Heh...$23 for Nasi Padang...lolz~ The food is nice and the dishes are on free flow but I still do not think the price is justified...haha...After dinner, we decided to move over to Pacific Coffee Connection at Citylink to sit down and relax only to realise that the cafe would be closing in like 30mins time...Had no choice but to find another alternative. Managed to find a cheap one at that... :p
We bought some drink and tidbits at 7-11 before moving over to Millenia Walk to whill off time. Settled down at a comfortable spot before we began to make ourselves feel at home...we ended up all lying on the floor and gazing at the stars in the sky....something I don't picture myself doing that frequently.... :)
I have always loved Millenia Walk...ever since I was working in Suntec a few years back...loved the surroundings and the atmosphere there. I do not know why but I always feel very at ease when I am there...just a feeling that I cannot put into words...I have a friend who suggested that the place looks romantic but I think its more than that...haha. Maybe I just have some weird affliations with the place ba... :p
Today is the last chance for me to do some last minute shopping...I have yet to get myself a new pair of jeans as instructed by my mother who insist New Year must wear new clothes....duh~
I do not believe in that....but I do believe in sparing my ears from excessive nagging...haa~ Its all Chinese New Year's fault....lolz~
Should I go??
KTV tonight....should I go? Frankly speaking....I gotten quite sick of this seemingly interesting activity....Its nice to do it once in a while....but when you start to do it week in week out....singing the same songs time and again...things can get rather boring....
Found a nice song by 光良.....titled 童话. I have it on my blog so that everybody can listen...I am such a nice guy sometimes... :p Anyway....this guy is one of my favourite singers because of his unique voice. It may come across to many as unpolished but that's what I like about it...so natural and sincere...never failing to touch the hearts of his listeners. Nice songs aplenty in his new album....I am gonna get it this weekend.... :)
Went to Genki Sushi at TM last night to celebrate my poly group mate, Huiyan's birthday. I think we ate quite alot....judging from the height of the plates that were stacked up in front of us....but its her treat anyway...haha. I had a try of this nice looking sushi which is basically rice wrapped with salmon with mayonnaise...looks nice and taste nice too...
We got her a birthday cake, courtesy of Ivy, and a Levis voucher. I think she loved the voucher more though...haha. Because her favourite cake flavour is strawberry and goodness know why the cake turned out to be chocolate....some communication breakdown somewhere I guess.... :p
But at least the cake taste nice...so credits to Ivy still...haa~
Its nice to see that my group mates have not changed one bit....still as crazy and jovial as before...its usually at birthdays or festive occasions that we get to meet up so I guess I always make it a point to attend all these gatherings...cos given the schedule and commitments that some of them have...we do not often get a chance to meet up. :)
Anyway....weekend is here again...looking forward to my EPL matches again...haha...Without any doubt, should be at Bar'celona in MS tomorrow night cheering on my Red Devils....
And this time round, I am expecting a larger turn-out since most of my kakis are back from their Thailand exercise...yeah~
Boring weekend~
Been a few days since I last blogged...means all is going on fine for me...nothing much is happening in my life...So that's all for today...
Of course not...But I hate to admit I spent almost the whole weekend at home simply because I wasn't feeling well....Had a overnight mahjong session on Friday which I won again...getting boring huh... :p
Concussed at home for the whole of Saturday, waking up only in the evening for dinner...then it was back to my usual routine of weekend soccer actions...Sunday as well. Really boring huh...Woke up today at 12+....abit later than usual because I went to fetch my ex-campmates from the airport late last night. Welcome back Crescendo Heroes...haha....too bad I couldn't be there with all of you....I swear I would love to!!! Really!!! I hope I sound convincing.
Good thing they are back...all the weekend soccer and boozing at MS shall commence once again...and I am waiting for the usual mahjong sessions at our favourite Hougang Green too...haha...
Everyone was tired last night so we went home straight from the airport...looking forward to whatever they wanna do today....I am quietly hoping it isn't KTV...haha
