一失足成千古恨
Friends who are really close would have known what I have gone through for the past few weeks. Hell indeed.
A simple mistake. A lost IC. That's all it takes to send a person to the lowest point of life one could have imagined. Then again, it might have got to do with a person's luck too. Other people lose their IC. Pay $100 to get a replacement and the rest is history. What have i got here?
Pay $100 to get a replacement, 9 mobile lines subscribed under my name without my knowledge. 4 loansharks coming to harass me till date. More to come maybe. I couldn't care less anymore. Over the past week, I have experienced what I thought would only be seen on newspaper and television. My name scribbled on the walls in my block, my door locked using a bicycle chain and my door and corridor splashed with paint. What else next.
If there's really karma in place, I must have been a rapist/murderer/loanshark in my previous life to deem it justice to receive such a retribution.
Its my mistake to lose my IC, I would readily admit anytime. Whatever punishments I deserve I take it without any complaints. But it really hurts me to see my family go through all these with me. My heart wrenched when I had to see my father's face after all the harassment had been commited. A person close to 60, looking forward to a peaceful retirement to enjoy whatever years he has left, yet he has to go through this. Because of a mistake by me. Me only.
I swear if I ever make this through unscathed, I will work the hardest I can to provide my family with the best that I can. To repay them? To lessen my guilt. Whatever it is.
Friends who are reading this, please please do be careful with how you protect your belongings. NRIC is really a very sensitive document. It would be best to keep it at home since we do not need it most of the time. A driving license would suffice as documentation of your identity. I found out from the police, a tad too late.
When you are asked to deposit your IC at any pool saloons or other entertainment outlets, decline the request. Again, a driving license or anything that proves your identity would suffice. And please, don't be a blur cock like me. Remember to collect it back after playing. I do not want to see any of my friends ending up like me. Believe me, its really much worse than you can ever imagine.
To friends who knows what I am going through, I thank you all for your understanding and help all this while. Give me time to settle this and then I will be back a stronger person. That's all I am looking forward to.
